The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Fire at refugee settlement in West Bekaa kills eight, December 08, 2017

A fire caused by a gas cylinder explosion killed or injured over 10 people, the majority of them children, in a Syrian refugee settlement near Ghazzeh in Western Bekaa Thursday. The state-run National News Agency cited the Civil Defense as saying that eight people were killed and four injured in the fire. Hady Mghammes, who works with the NGO Beyond Association and was on the scene, said the number of casualties could increase and that “over 30 tents” burned down.
