BEIRUT: Former General Security chief Jamil Sayyed warned the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) Tuesday against falling for the “new conspiracies created by the same political, media, judicial and security factions that falsified testimonies during the past four years.” Sayyed’s statement said certain Lebanese factions were trying to prevent Mohammad Zuhair al-Siddiq, a witness in the assassination of former Premier Rafik Hariri, from appearing before the Syrian judiciary. Sayyed said these factions were using Kuwait’s As-Siyassah newspaper to accuse Hizbullah and include Siddiq in the charges.
