The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

April 17, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Rifi donates to National Campaign to Reform Prisons

Internal Security Forces (ISF) Director General Ashraf Rifi on Friday donated a month’s worth salary to the National Campaign to Reform Prisons started by Lebanon First bloc MP Okab Sakr, reported Al-Markaziyya News Agency on Saturday.

The report said Prime Minister Saad Hariri was the first to make a donation of $200,000 to support the cause.

The campaign aims to improve prison conditions in Lebanon and will be officially launched by Sakr during a press conference next week.
