April 8, 2010 - Now Lebanon - LAF arrests six connected to Bekaa and Dahiyeh clashes

The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) issued a statement Thursday that it has been working on containing several security incidents that took place over the past 24 hours.

The statement cited the Sfeir clashes in Dahiyeh, the fighting that erupted in the Bekaa village of Hermel and the “shooting that was heard” at the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command (PFLP-GC)’s base in the Bekaa.

The LAF cordoned off the base and restored calm in the abovementioned areas, said the statement, adding, “The army detained five suspects believed to be connected to the base incident as well as one [allegedly] connected to the Dahiyeh clashes.”
