July 22, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Nasrallah meets Arslan

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah met with Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan on Thursday, during which they discussed the current domestic situation, according to a statement issued by Hezbollah’s press office.

This comes after Nasrallah met with Jumblatt on Wednesday. As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper reported on Thursday that the Hezbollah chief is holding a series of meetings to defuse tension in the country.

The political situation in Lebanon has grown tense after Nasrallah called the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) an Israeli project and linked the tribunal’s pending indictment with the recent arrest of Alfa telecom employees for allegedly collaborating with Israel.

Media outlets have reported that Hezbollah members will be named in the indictment for the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
