July 22, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Nasrallah’s speech will touch on critical matters

Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Thursday that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will tackle the circumstances behind the 2008 May events, false witnesses in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), Israeli espionage and the Internal Security Forces-Information Branch in his speech scheduled for later in the day.

This comes after March 8 coalition figures have accused the ISF of not acting against alleged Israeli spies in the telecom sector even though the force had knowledge of their activities.

Nasrallah does not aim to provoke reactions or blame specific people in his address, but instead hopes to nullify any attempt to target Hezbollah through an STL indictment, the daily also reported.

Al-Akhbar quoted an unnamed source as saying that the tribunal’s evidence is faulty since it is based on witnesses and the telecommunications sector.

Witnesses turned out to be false and the telecommunication sector was infiltrated by Israeli agents, the source added, referring to the alleged Israeli spies arrested since June.
