National Liberal Party leader MP Dori Chamoun told NOW Lebanon in an interview published on Friday that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s Thursday speech implicates Hezbollah in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
This comes after Nasrallah said that PM Saad Hariri told him in May the STL would indict Hezbollah members. Reports said that the tribunal will issue its indictment before the end of the year, most probably in September.
Chamoun also said that the STL has credibility given the fact that its staff members are from all over the world.
He added that the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2005 between the Change and Reform bloc and Hezbollah is what strengthened Hezbollah’s role in the country.
