Now Lebanon - Fadlallah calls for abolishing STL before September’s end, September 16, 2010

Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Hassan Fadlallah said during Thursday’s Parliamentary Finance and Budget Commission session that parliament should abolish the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) before the end of September, otherwise “the matter [will be] very dangerous,” MTV reported.

March 14 MPs walked out of the commission’s Thursday evening session when March 8 MPs insisted that members vote on a 2010 state budget clause related to STL funding, NOW Lebanon’s correspondent said.

Seven March 8 MPs were present, while six March 14 MPs attended and three others were absent, the correspondent added.

March 8 MPs are seeking a “political compromise over the STL, and March 14 MPs refuse this and affirm that the STL is unrelated to any political issue,” Future News quoted Lebanon First bloc MP Jamal al-Jarrah as saying.
