The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Man kidnapped in Beirut neighborhood - September 15, 2010

The Voice of Lebanon (VOL) radio station reported on Wednesday that a man, identified as Siraj al-Khayyat, was kidnapped in the Beirut neighborhood of Hayy al-Sellum on Wednesday morning.

However, the man was released shortly afterward, said the VOL, adding that Khayyat’s friends refused to collaborate with the kidnappers and pay ransom.

The police launched an investigation into the incident.
