The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

The Daily Star - Palestinian found tortured, killed in Ain al-Hilweh - May 23, 2011

SIDON, Lebanon: A Palestinian man was found murdered, with signs of torture, in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp over the weekend.Fares al-Fares, in his 40s, was found dead Saturday in the area of Jabal Halib, in the southeast of the camp. Investigations indicated that Fares was the brother of a security official in a local Palestinian organization but had no political affiliation himself. Fares was found with his hands and feet tied and his body wrapped in a blanket and nylon bags, and showed signs of torture and stab wounds. According to Palestinian sources, the victim suffered a blow to the head with a sharp object.
