BEIRUT: Three kidnapped Iraqis were freed by the Lebanese Army in a raid in the northern town of Wadi Khaled, said a statement released by the army.
“After being notified of the disappearance of three Iraqis in Boqaya on May 20, the Lebanese Army launched an investigation,” said the statement released Sunday. The raid, which resulted in a shootout with the captors, took place Sunday afternoon, after intelligence personnel of the Lebanese Army reported a suspicious residence in the area. All nine kidnappers were taken into custody.
