Arab Tawhid Party leader Wiam Wahhab said on Saturday that a cabinet headed by Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati will be formed and will not cooperate with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), which is probing the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri.
Wahhab said that the upcoming cabinet will not deal with the tribunal if the latter indicts Hezbollah for the Rafik Hariri murder, Al-Markaziyya news agency reported.
“The cabinet will always be in support of the Resistance because there is no Lebanon without the Resistance,” he added.
Mikati was appointed to the premiership by the Hezbollah-led March 8 coalition following the collapse of Saad Hariri’s government due to a dispute over the STL.
There are rumors that the STL will indict Hezbollah members for the Rafik Hariri murder, a move the party has repeatedly warned against.
