The Daily Star - Human remains found in trunk of Nabatieh car - September 09, 2011

BEIRUT: A gruesome crime was revealed in Nabatieh Thursday when human remains were discovered in the trunk of a man’s car.
The National News Agency said Army Intelligence personnel apprehended a man, identified by his initials H. N. Gh., from the village of Kfar Kila, Nabatieh at dawn.
They detained him at a local gas station while he was having his Mercedes washed, and discovered the skin of a head, brain matter and human teeth in the trunk.
The agency said the man gave multiple versions of the incident to investigators, beginning with the story that he had purchased the vehicle from a person in the village of Khiam and discovered the remains inside.
He then changed his story, saying he bought the car in Beirut, and that it turned out to be stolen, but that its former owner had used it to transport “wounded” people, without offering further details.
Investigations revealed that the car was not registered in the name of the detained man, and that his father and brothers were inmates in Roumieh prison, detained on counterfeiting charges.
