The Daily Star - Mikati office meets with human rights experts - September 09, 2011


BEIRUT: The office of Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with human rights experts Thursday in order to develop a Human Rights National Action Plan and discuss the newly introduced anti-trafficking law.

In a statement from his office, Mikati welcomed the work of Parliament’s Human Rights Committee with regard to the criminalization of trafficking and hoped that criminals will be effectively prosecuted, and victims better protected, in line with international human rights standards.
