Now Lebanon - Karam: Electricity issue will be resolved before Wednesday cabinet session - September 06, 2011

State Minister Salim Karam said on Tuesday that the controversy over the Change and Reform bloc’s draft energy bill will be resolved before Wednesday’s cabinet session.
“The [atmosphere] is conducive toward [finding] a solution, and [talks] are positive,” he told Voice of Lebanon (93.3) radio.
Karam added that the electricity issue “should not be discussed anymore since it will be finalized [soon].”
The parliament earlier in August adjourned the discussion of the draft law proposed by the Change and Reform bloc to transfer $1.2 billion in funds to the Energy Ministry, while ministers have yet to approve the proposal.
Bassil said in a press conference on Monday said in Monday press conference that “until now” he does not understand why any party would have a problem with the draft energy bill.
