The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - General Security: Mawlawi arrested for allegedly contacting “terrorist organization”, May 12 2012


The Directorate of the General Security issued a statement on Saturday saying it had arrested Lebanese citizen Shadi al-Mawlawi earlier in the day on charges of “contacting a terrorist organization.”
According to the statement Mawlawi was arrested while he was leaving a social services center that belongs to Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi and is located in North Lebanon’s Tripoli.
Safadi rejected Mawlawi’s arrest and called for his release.
