Now Lebanon - Safadi’s representative: Mawlawi’s release ‘restored Tripoli’s dignity’, May 22 2012

Ahmad Safadi, a representative of Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi, said on Tuesday that the release of Shadi al-Mawlawi restored Tripoli’s dignity.
“Releasing Shadi al-Mawlawi restored our dignity and pride in this city [Tripoli] especially since the manner in which he was arrested was not [based] on protocol,” Safadi told Al-Jadeed television.
He also thanked Prime Minister Najib Mikati’s “efforts to follow up on the case” as well as the Lebanese judiciary “which proved that it applies [Lebanese] law.”
Mawlawi, whose arrest sparked deadly sectarian clashes in Lebanon between pro- and anti-Syrian groups, wasreleased on bail Tuesday.
General Security arrested Mawlawi from an office that belongs to Mohammad Safadi on May 12.
