Families of the kidnapped
Shia pilgrims in Syria blocked Beirut’s airport road on Thursday to demonstrate
against “not knowing the fate of their sons,” LBC television reported.
The National News Agency added that the protesters reopened the road after one hour.
“The cabinet is responsible for the safety of the kidnapped [men],” one of the protesters told LBC.

that some of the families “will head toward the Turkish embassy soon,” adding
that today’s protest will only last for two hours.
“If we are not reassured
about the safety of the kidnapped [men], we will permanently block the airport
road,” the protester added.
Eleven Lebanese Shia
pilgrims were abducted in Syria’s Aleppo on May 22 while returning from Iran.
Last week, a previously unknown armed group calling itself the "Syrian
Revolutionaries—Aleppo Province" said that it was holding the pilgrims.
