BEIRUT:
A Syrian man who was kidnapped in Zahle, east Lebanon, last week was released
early Monday, security sources told The Daily Star.
Habib
al-Brimo arrived at his house in the early hours of the morning and contacted
the Internal Security Forces.
Brimo’s
vehicle was intercepted by a group of unidentified men who snatched him from
his silver Mercedes and took him in the direction of a mall in the area.
The
kidnappers left the car in its place.
The
National News Agency reported that Brimo was released in Arsal, northeast of
Lebanon, at 12:15 a.m. He kept walking and took several taxis until he reached his
house in Zahle.
The report also said that
Brimo did not pay a ransom for his release.
