The son of herbal expert Zein al-Atat was released on Saturday
after mediations were successful with the kidnappers, the National News Agency
reported.
NNA said that Ibrahim al-Atat was released on the outskirts of
Baalbek.
Al-Atat’s manager denied to LBC that the kidnappers released
Ibrahim after paying a ransom.
Ibrahim was kidnapped earlier this month while he was driving his
Hummer along with his cousin Mahmoud al-Atat and his friend Wael Abdul Khaleq
when four gunmen riding a black Mercedes four-wheeler with tined widows and no
license plate blocked his way and whisked him out of his vehicle.
No details were immediately available about the circumstances of
the release as the motive remains unknown.
