BEIRUT: A Bolivian woman was arrested Tuesday at the Rafik
Hariri International Airport for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the
country, security sources said.
The woman hid 2,750 grams of cocaine at the bottom of a
double-padded suitcase. She had flown in from Bolivia and was arrested by the
Customs Department and the Internal Security Forces' anti-drug bureau.
The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, also said that
the security forces arrested four other Bolivian women for carrying 1,000 grams
of cocaine Sunday.
The five
women are being interrogated for information on their supplier.
