The Daily Star - ICRC repatriates 3 Lebanese females, remains of male, July 24 2012

BEIRUT: The International Committee of the Red Cross facilitated the repatriation Tuesday from Israel of three Lebanese females and the remains of a male Lebanese civilian, the ICRC said in a statement.
The handover operation took place in two stages at the southern end of Ras Naqoura on the Israeli-Lebanese border in the presence of ICRC delegates.
“Our role is strictly humanitarian and part of our ongoing work to restore and maintain contact between people detained or separated in connection with armed conflict and their families,” the ICRC quoted Jurg Montani, the head of the ICRC delegation in Lebanon, as saying.
“The ICRC is acting in its capacity as a neutral intermediary at the request of the families and the Israeli and Lebanese authorities, and with the full consent of all parties concerned,” he added.
In 2012, the ICRC repatriated seven Lebanese civilians and the remains of four others from Israel to Lebanon. It also facilitated the transfer of an Israeli Arab national from Lebanon to Israel.
