The Daily Star - Police arrest 76 people over traffic violations, crimes, July 14 2012

BEIRUT: As part of the country’s “security month,” police Friday arrested 27 people for traffic violations and 49 for various crimes, the National News Agency reported. Judicial police arrested two wanted brothers, one who had 22 arrest warrants, and a woman for car theft and fraud. Police arrested 49 others on charges including theft, drug dealing, fraud, assault, harassment, illegal possession of weapons, resisting arrest, blackmail and illegal gambling. The ISF said police detained 27 people for traffic violations and confiscated 42 cars, 53 trucks and 124 motorcycles Friday. They issued 559 speeding tickets. Since the start of the month, police have detained 765 people and confiscated 3,912 vehicles.
