Now Lebanon - UNHCR At least 35,000 Syrians fled for Lebanon, August 6 2012


The UN refugee agency UNHCR issued a report saying that more than 35,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon were receiving aid, adding that the number of those registered with the agency was 33,664.
According to the report, the refugees were receiving aid thanks to efforts made by the Lebanese cabinet, UN agencies and NGO’s.
It also said that 19,319 refugees were present in North Lebanon, adding that thousands of refugees who recently arrived in Lebanon were not yet registered with the UNHCR.
Tens of thousands of Syrians have fled violence in their country for neighboring countries including Lebanon.
