In an interview with Future News television on Tuesday, Lebanon First bloc MP Ziad al-Qadiri slammed Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah for calling the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) an “Israeli project.”
“Anyone who says that the STL is an Israeli tribunal is condemning himself because all [factions] have approved it,” Qadiri said. He added that Nasrallah’s statement was based on “non-existent assumptions.”
Qadiri commented on Lebanese-Syrian relations, saying they were heading on the right track and that bilateral agreements have been reviewed to serve the interests of both countries.
This comes after Prime Minister Saad Hariri met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Monday for the third time since his arrival in Syria on Sunday and the two men later expressed their satisfaction with steps taken to enhance bilateral relations, the official Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported. Hariri led a 13-member ministerial delegation during his visit to Syria.
He said he hoped that Syria will deal seriously with the border demarcation with Lebanon and the issue of Lebanese missing or held in Syrian prisons.
