Shia leader Imam Moussa Sadr and his two companions are “still alive and prisoners in the hand of [Libyan President Moammar] Qaddafi,” Sadr’s son, Moussa ad-Din Sadr, told the National News Agency (NNA) on Monday.
He added that the Lebanese government is not taking any positive steps on the issue.
Sadr and his two companions disappeared in Libya in 1978.
The Lebanese judiciary took some measures to charge Qaddafi since he admitted in 2002 that Sadr disappeared in Libya.
However, he added that the Lebanese judiciary has not followed up on the matter.
Sadr’s son also said that he was not blaming anyone, but is instead of asking the government to pressure Qaddafi over the disappearance of his father.
