July 24, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Aoun: STL is not searching for Hariri’s real killers

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun accused the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) of not searching for the real culprits behind the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, according to a statement issued Saturday by Aoun’s office.

“The [STL] are searching for someone to accuse of the crime, and not for the real culprits,” he added.

Media outlets have reported that the tribunal will soon indict Hezbollah members over Hariri’s murder.

Aoun called on Prime Minister Saad Hariri to demand the truth, rather than accepting fabricated versions of it.

This comes after Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah claimed on Thursday that Hariri informed him in May that the STL will indict Hezbollah members.
