The Daily Star - Municipal building target of arson attack - July 07, 2011

BEIRUT: An arson attack reportedly targeted a municipal building in Nabatieh, while 50,000 square meters of green cover went up in flames, security sources told The Daily Star Wednesday.
The Central News Agency said that the municipal building of Mayfadoun, Nabatieh was damaged after catching fire.
The agency said the town’s mayor filed charges over the incident, which damaged the building’s facade.
The CNA said the incident was a warning to the mayor, who had signed a contract with the Municipal Union of Shqeef Municipalities to establish a garbage dump for the union’s municipalities on land bordering Mayfadoun, angering village residents.
