Daily Star - Seven Lebanese journalists Killed since end of Civil War, April 10, 2012


BEIRUT: Since the end of the 1975-90 Lebanese Civil War, which claimed the lives of scores of journalists, seven Lebanese journalists have been killed:
Ali Shaaban, April 9, 2012
The Al-Jadeed TV cameraman was killed at a border crossing in the northern area of Wadi Khaled. His station blamed the Syrian army for the incident.
Assaf Abu Rahal, Aug. 3, 2010
The Al-Akhbar correspondent in the south Lebanon area of Marjayoun was struck by an Israeli shell as he was covering a border clash between Israeli and Lebanese military forces in the southern town of Adaysseh.

The freelance photographer was hit by shrapnel from a missile on a road between the villages of Sidiqeen and Qana in south Lebanon during the summer 2006 war with Israel.

The director general of An-Nahar newspaper was killed in east Beirut when a car bomb exploded as his vehicle drove past.
