Daily Star - President pardons Youssef Shaaban
President Michel Sleiman has pardoned the accused killer of a Jordanian diplomat in Beirut, years after the actual murderers were tried, sentenced and executed by the Jordanian authorities. Youssef Shaaban was the beneficiary of the pardon, since his conviction by the Higher Judicial Council for the 1994 crime could not be overturned.
