The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Keyrouz submits proposal to abolish honor killing code, August 31, 2010

Lebanese Forces bloc MP Elie Keyrouz submitted a proposal to the parliament to abolish Article 562 of the penal code, which pertains to honor killings in Lebanon, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Keyrouz’s office.

The statement said that the proposal calls for ending honor killings, adding that the issue reflects inequality between men and women.
