Israel has dismissed Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's accusations of the Jewish state's involvement in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri's assassination.
"The international community, the Arab world, and most importantly, the people of Lebanon all know that these accusations are simply ridiculous," a senior Israeli official told The Associated Press. On Monday, Nasrallah presented aerial reconnaissance footage that he said implicates Israel in Hariri's Feb. 2005 assassination. "This is evidence, indications ... that open new horizons for the investigations," Nasrallah said at a lengthy press conference in which he spoke to reporters via satellite link. It was clear that the accusations were "coming from the pressure on (Nasrallah) over the international community's suspicions about Hizbullah's involvement in Hariri's murder," said another Israeli official.(AP-AFP-Naharnet)
