August 10, 2010 - Naharnet - Velayati: Charges against Hizbullah 'Zionist'

Senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said that accusations against Hizbullah in the murder of former PM Rafik Hariri were "Zionist" and "political." "Information that indicated the involvement of Hizbullah elements in Hariri's assassination are Zionism and political charges, and not legal," Velayati said during a press conference held in Damascus. He said Iran believes these kinds of accusations launched by the Israelis ahead of the international tribunal indictment are "political, and not legal, charges." Velayati called on the Lebanese government, the Resistance and the people to stand up against these accusations and threats.
