Now Lebanon - Karam arrested while trying to flee Lebanon

An-Nahar newspaper reported on Thursday that Brigadier General Fayez Karam, who is also a Free Patriotic Movement official, was arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel at Beirut’s Rafik Hariri International Airport while he was attempting to flee the country.

“Karam was trying to escape after he was called in for interrogation,” the daily said.

Also, An-Nahar reported that security forces informed FPM leader MP Michel Aoun of Karam’s arrest on Tuesday evening.

According to various reports, Karam confessed that he has been spying for Israel since 2005 and that he has met several Israeli officials during his trips to the European Union.
