August 8, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Hadade: STL’s investigation harms its credibility

Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) Secretary General Khaled Hadade said that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s (STL) investigation harmed its credibility, according to a statement issued by Hadade’s press office on Sunday.

There are attempts to use the tribunal’s indictment to carry out a conspiracy in Lebanon, he said, adding that the country is in a dangerous position because there is a US-Israeli scheme in the region.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said last Tuesday that he will reveal during a press conference on August 9 irrefutable evidence proving that Israel was behind the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Nasrallah in July also said that the tribunal would indict his party’s members for Hariri’s murder.

Hadade added that a democratic government would strengthen the country and guarantee its security.
