August 9, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Hezbollah worried about STL indictment, Israeli source says

According to Al-Akhbar newspaper, The Jerusalem Post quoted a source from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office as saying that Hezbollah’s accusation that Israel is behind the murder of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri indicates that the party is worried about being indicted by the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said last month that PM Saad Hariri had informed him the STL will indict Hezbollah members in the killing of Rafik Hariri.

“Everybody knows that accusing Israel of the crime is ridiculous,” said the source, adding that Hezbollah will face a lot of problems if it was accused of murdering the former PM.

“[Hezbollah] is looking for a way out,” the source also said.

Nasrallah stated last week that he will hold a press conference on Monday presenting irrefutable evidence that the Jewish State is behind Hariri’s assassination.
