August 10, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Hariri was assassinated because he prevented sectarian strife, Wahhab says

Tawhid Movement leader Wiam Wahhab told OTV on Monday night that Israel assassinated former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri because he played a major role in preventing sectarian strife in Lebanon.

“[Tel Aviv] killed Rafik Hariri because he did not [serve] the US-Israeli plot in the region,” he added.

When Nasrallah realized that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) does not want to uncover the truth, he had to present his evidence that Israel committed the crime, Wahhab also said.

The Hezbollah chief presented alleged evidence—including footage he said came from Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) monitoring Rafik Hariri and confessions from suspected Israeli spies—in an aim to implicate Tel Aviv in the Hariri assassination.

“The STL was not formed to investigate the assassination,” Wahhab also said, adding that the tribunal has political aims.
