August 10, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Nasrallah’s information is suitable for a new investigation, Aoun says

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun told Al-Manar television on Monday evening that the information Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah presented during his press conference is suitable for launching a new investigation into the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

Nasrallah presented alleged evidence—including footage he said came from Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) monitoring Rafik Hariri and confessions from suspected Israeli spies—in an aim to implicate Israel in the 2005 assassination of the former PM.

Aoun said that the false witnesses in the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) have helped misdirect the course of the tribunal, adding that it is important for responsible authorities in the STL to reconsider the investigation.

“Nasrallah’s information is [based on solid ground],” he added.
