August 9, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Source to As-Safir: Accusing Israel in STL indictment is absurd

As-Safir newspaper quoted on Monday an unnamed source as saying that several political figures believe that accusing Israel in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri is ridiculous and also the reason behind Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s recent speeches.

Nasrallah said earlier last week that he will reveal during a press conference on August 9 irrefutable evidence proving that Israel was behind the assassination.

According to As-Safir, Nasrallah aims to prevent the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) from taking a wrong turn which will then avoid the truth.

Nasrallah’s Monday speech will change the STL’s course, the daily added, stating that Nasrallah claims the tribunal should use his evidence to ensure fairness.
