August 10, 2010 - Now Lebanon - Ahmad Hariri dismisses reports on STL leaks

Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa quoted on Tuesday Future Movement Secretary General Ahmad Hariri as dismissing reports on leaks related to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon’s (STL) pending indictment, saying that nobody has information on the pending charges.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in July that that Prime Minister Saad Hariri told him that the STL—which was formed to probe the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri—would indict Hezbollah members.

In order to find the truth, the STL should not be politicized, Ahmad Hariri said.

“Why did Hezbollah accuse Israel now?” Hariri asked.

Nasrallah presented on Monday alleged evidence—including footage he said came from Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) monitoring former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and a confession from a suspected Israeli spy—in an aim to implicate Tel Aviv in the Hariri assassination.
