BEIRUT: A Lebanese judge issued an arrest warrant Monday against Hannibal Gadhafi, saying the detained son of Libya's late leader made threats of violence during an interrogation, state media reported.
Judge Zaher Hamadeh said Gadhafi made direct, personal threats against him during an interrogation over the disappearance of a prominent Lebanese cleric, the National News Agency reported.
Lebanese authorities arrested Gadhafi, a son of late Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, on Dec. 15, 2015.
Gadhafi was detained as part of an investigation into the 1978 disappearance of Imam Musa Sadr.
Sadr, the founder of Lebanon's Amal movement, went missing along with two of his companions during a visit to Libya in August 1978.
The three were visiting Libya at the invitation of Moammar Gadhafi.
Judge Hamadeh was interrogating Gadhafi Monday in the presence of Sadr's family and friends when the alleged threats were made, the NNA said.
The judge referred the case to the military prosecutor.
Gadhafi's last court session earlier this month was postponed after the defendant refused to appear in without a lawyer.
Gadhafi's former lawyer, Akram Azouri, had quit the case in Nobember, accusing Lebanese authorities of conspiring against the judiciary.
