The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - General Workers’ Union announces general strike in October - September 06, 2011


General Workers’ Union announced a general strike on October 12 and called “for protesting on all Lebanese territories,” the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Following its extraordinary meeting, the union also called for increasing the minimum wage for employees and laborers.
“The General Workers’ Union openly announces that it will confront any suggestion to increase the tax on the added value.”
