The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Daily Star - Green legislation seminar preparations under way, September 24, 2011

BEIRUT: A first-of-its kind seminar on environmental legislation will be held later this month, organizers announced Friday.The Beirut Bar Association’s environment committee met and discussed preparations for the two-day seminar, which will focus on environmental crimes, damage to the environment, environmental responsibility, putting legislation into practice, monitoring and environmental auditing and standards.The committee heard from Bar Association president Amal Haddad about the importance of the seminar, “which is being held for the first time in Lebanon, and whose recommendations will be relied on by the Bar Association in the legal realm.”
