The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - ISF arrests possible kidnap suspects in Bekaa, NNA reports, September 21, 2011

The Internal Security Forces (ISF) Information Branch arrested in the Bekaa on Wednesday four people who might be linked to the kidnapping of seven Estonian cyclists earlier in the year, the National News Agency reported.“The ISF units raided an auto repair shop and arrested three Lebanese and a Syrian man for unknown reasons,” the NNA said.The report added that the arrest “could have been part of a follow up to the case of the abduction of the Estonians.” However, it did not elaborate further.Two men suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of the Estonians in Lebanon were killed on Monday night in a shootout with police in the Bekaa. The seven Estonians were freed in Lebanon in July almost four months after being abducted by armed men as they entered the country on a bicycle tour from neighboring Syria.
