The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

Now Lebanon - Prisoners release officer, LBC reports, September 23, 2011

LBC television reported on Friday that “the officer captured by Fatah al-Islam prisoners earlier in the day was released, and work is still ongoing to release the other guards.”The TV station also said that “the riots that erupted in Roumieh Prison injured four guards and four prisoners.”“However, the injuries are not serious,” LBC added.Fatah al-Islam prisoners captured a number of security forces members in Roumieh Prison earlier in the day.
