Prime Minister Najib Mikati met on Tuesday with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and discussed the case of the abducted Estonians, the National News Agency reported.
“This case will constitute a priority for the security forces and the new cabinet,” the NNA quoted Mikati as saying after the meeting.
He added that the Lebanese authorities will fully cooperate with their Estonian counterparts in order to solve this matter.
The Estonian FM said that he is satisfied with the efforts made by the Lebanese authorities, and hoped that the mutual work of Lebanese and Estonian security forces will lead to a positive result.
Mikati also met with Central Bank governor Riad Salameh and discussed the measures taken to preserve the stability of the financial market in Lebanon.
Seven Estonian men were kidnapped on March 23 after entering Lebanon on a bicycle tour from neighboring Syria.
Several people have been arrested in Lebanon in connection with the case but there is no clear evidence as to who ordered the kidnapping or where the men are.
The new Lebanese cabinet—headed by Mikati—was formed on Monday after almost five months of deliberations between the March 8 parties.
