Future Movement Deputy Secretary General Antoine Andraous called on the cabinet to deal with the Lebanese people and not satisfy Hezbollah or certain members of the party or Arab organizations “that contributed in assassinating” former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
He told Future News television on Thursday that Hezbollah will attempt to use the issue of security to show that stability is fragile due to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
When Hezbollah was infiltrated, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah accused the CIA and the US of being behind it, Andraous said, asking “Did those who assassinate Hariri carry out the operation without having someone who heads them?”
“Things have become clear, and Nasrallah has to [address] the people because there is supposed to be someone heading the operation.”
The STL said in a statement published on its website that the indictment and accompanying arrest warrants were transmitted to the Lebanese authorities on Thursday.
A judicial official told AFP that four Lebanese suspects are named in the indictment.
Local media said at least two of them were members of the Iranian and Syrian-backed Hezbollah, which has warned it would defend itself if accused.
Nasrallah said last week that two of his party members have confessed to working for the US Central Intelligence Agency, adding that a third is still under interrogation.
