Now Lebanon - Kataeb: ‘STL is the only chance to uncover the truth’ - June 27, 2011

Kataeb Party political bureau met on Monday and issued a statement saying that “the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is the only chance to reveal the truth about who killed all the martyrs in Lebanon,” voicing the party’s adherence to the tribunal.
“The cabinet is to be [blamed] for any attempt to cancel [Lebanon’s] ties with the STL,” and the party will contest this decision through all democratic means, the statement said.
The party also warned against using any vague mention of the STL or other international resolutions in the ministerial statement, according to the report.
The statement added that the party views the STL as means to preserve stability in Lebanon through justice.
The statement also addressed the issue of spies allegedly uncovered by Hezbollah within its members.
The investigation of the  suspected spies falls within the duties of the Lebanese judiciary and the Lebanese people should be informed about the investigation process with transparency, the statement added.
The new Lebanese cabinet—headed by Prime Minister Najib Mikati—was formed last week after almost five months of deliberations between the March 8 parties.
Before bringing down Saad Hariri’s cabinet in January, Hezbollah had been pressing him to disavow the STL, which is probing the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri and likely to implicate members of the Shia group.
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Friday that his party had uncovered three spies among its members.
