Lebanon First bloc Khaled Zahraman told the Voice of Lebanon (93.3) radio station on Sunday that the Ministerial Statement will include a vague article about the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
He voiced hope that a clear STL article is issued in the Ministerial Statement, adding that the current cabinet is a “confrontation cabinet.”
Zahraman also said that transferring the issue of the STL to national-dialogue sessions is dangerous because “through our experience, national dialogue turned out to be the cemetery of all issues.”
Before bringing down Saad Hariri’s cabinet in January, Hezbollah had been pressing him to disavow the STL, which is probing the 2005 assassination of former PM Rafik Hariri and is likely to implicate members of the Shia group.
The new Lebanese cabinet was formed last week after almost five months of deliberations between the March 8 parties.
The March 14 coalition had announced it will not take part in Najib Mikati’s government.
