The Lebanese Center for Human Rights (CLDH) is a local non-profit, non-partisan Lebanese human rights organization in Beirut that was established by the Franco-Lebanese Movement SOLIDA (Support for Lebanese Detained Arbitrarily) in 2006. SOLIDA has been active since 1996 in the struggle against arbitrary detention, enforced disappearance and the impunity of those perpetrating gross human violations.

BEIRUT: The Lebanese Army has arrested nearly 50 Syrian nationals in different areas of the country for illegal residency and attempted entry into Lebanon, a statement said Thursday.

The statement said that the army arrested 11 people on the outskirts of the eastern town of Majdal Anjar for trying to sneak into the country illegally, while 38 individuals were arrested in the northern district of Akkar for illegitimate residency.

The army also seized one pick-up truck and four motorbikes without licenses.
